CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2040 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, N. Schultz, D. Tate, H. Veihdeffer, J. Wetzel, and R. Wetzel. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Schultz seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received the "Past Ports" Newsletter. Mr. R. Wetzel reported that we received our utility bill. Mr. Beasley reported the we received a plea from a South American modeler for literature and a video of the Club. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Vice President: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. R. Wetzel reported that we are solvent; that our insurance "agent" has yet to produce our loss check; and that Mr. Lacey needs an intentions letter. Publicist: Mr. Morris was absent. Superintendent: Mr. Beasley was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS Control/Electrical: Mr. Frozina reported that work is progressing on the CTC panel; that all mainline turnouts can now be controlled from the CTC panel; and that the turnout indicator lights will soon be in. Mr. Crawford reported the he moved the DCC controller and boosters into the CTC area; and that block wiring is progressing slowly buy surely. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported the he will contact the San Diego MRR club about how they secured a grant; about putting our bid on a piece of property in the Palmdale Hammic Center; and about contacting Assemblyman Runner and Congressman McKeon. Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey had no report. Inventory: Mr. Frozina had no report. Relocation: Mr. Crawford had no report. Rolling Stock: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that we still have unmarked rolling stock on the layout. Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Veihdeffer seconded that any rolling stock left on the layout after 01 July 2000 automatically becomes the property of the Club. The motion passed unanimously. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Track: Mr. Crawford reported that the new crossover, at the top end of "The Loop", has been Tortoise-ized. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Brochure Holders: Mr. Schultz had no report. Decoder Software: Mr. Beasley was absent. Computer: Mr. Veihdeffer traded his 14" EGA monitor for our 17" VGA monitor, since the size of that monitor was deemed too big for the available space. Tool Cart: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Stereo Receiver: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Car Worth: Mr. Schultz received an e-mail from the person who estimated the Car's worth. This person also needs to know the journal box size. NEW BUSINESS Air Conditioner: Mr. Crawford noted that the air conditioner is not working properly. Mr. Schultz to contact his air conditioner repair service to have it looked at. Tortoise Motors: Mr. Boone moved and Mr. Veihdeffer seconded that we purchase five additional Tortoise motors, for the yards, for $80.00. The motion passed unanimously. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Veihdeffer will coordinate an overnight trip to the live steam club that Al Way belongs to, sometime after the 2000 Fair. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 21 July 2000 at 2000 hours in the Club car.
