ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 02 February 2001 Lancaster, California Minutes of the February 2001 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2012 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, N. Schultz, D. Tate, H. Veihdeffer, J. Wetzel, R. Wetzel and R. Ybarra. Guest present: Bill Shiverdecker. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Lacey seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as amended. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS E-mail from Houstonic MRC, updated URL; mail from Daylight Sales, catalog. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Vice President: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that the January version of the roster was placed in the member's mail boxes last week. Treasurer: Mr. R. Wetzel reported that we are solvent. Publicist: Mr. Beasley was absent. Superintendent: Mr. Schultz remarked that we need quicker disaster response during run nights, as several train broke apart. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported that we need to work on our proposal to the Fair Board. Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey had no report. Inventory: Mr. Frozina reported the he will soon inventory the Club's furniture and fixtures. Operating: Mr. Crawford established the Operating Committee and appointed Mr. Veihdeffer as its chair. Mr. Veihdeffer reported that run nights need to start at 2000 hours; bring your own locos and radio; leave the car cards here; and that we need a white board to post job assignments. Rolling Stock: Mr. Lacey reported that the oil cans need to be tech'ed. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that e would like to find a passenger station that hangs over the tracks. Track: Mr. R. Wetzel had no report. SPECIAL ORDERS Mr. Frozina reported that Mr. Ybarra had completed his probationary period. Mr. Ybarra was asked to leave the car. Discussion followed. Mr. Ybarra was recalled to the car. Mr. Ybarra was told that he was conditionally approved for Regular membership, pending him becoming current with dues. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Tool Cart: Mr. Veihdeffer asked that this item be dropped. Stereo Receiver: Mr. Veihdeffer asked that this item be dropped. Intelligent Circuit Breakers: Mr. Veihdeffer will locate and purchase said breakers. NEW BUSINESS Bright Boys: Mr. Schultz reported that he located and purchased several new Bright Boys (or their equivalent). Cab Controller: Mr. Crawford reported that Cab 5 has been sent back for repair. Wheel Cleaner: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that he located and purchased a brush-style wheel cleaner that sits on the tracks. Missing Headset Radio: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that it's still missing. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Veihdeffer announced that he will arrange for a run at the Bakersfield Club sometime in April or May. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 02 March 2001 at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business or discussion, Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Schultz seconded that we adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 2100 hours.
