ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 01 June 2001 Lancaster, California Minutes of the June 2001 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 1958 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: J. Beasley, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, N. Schultz, D. Tate, and H. Veihdeffer. Guest present: John Veihdeffer and Geri Williams. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Tate seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that he sent a thank you letter to Don Ruder for his generous donation of HO track, switches, switch machines and electrical panels. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford reported that the Fair proposal has been completed. Vice President: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. R. Wetzel was absent. Publicist: Mr. Beasley had no report. Superintendent: Mr. Schultz had no report. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate reported that the paper mill branch has been completed. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported that the proposal has been completed. Mr. Crawford will convert the PostScript version of the proposal to an Adobe Acrobat PDF file for the printer. 21 June will be a dry run of the presentation, in preparation for the 28 June Fair Board meeting. Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey had no report. Inventory: Mr. Frozina reported that the oil cans have been inventoried. Operating: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Rolling Stock: Mr. Lacey and Mr. Tate had no reports. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Track: Mr. R. Wetzel was absent. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Intelligent Circuit Breakers: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that they are on order and will ship in 30 days. Signal Project: No report. Private Cars: Mr. Schultz had no report. Cab Controllers: Mr. Beasley reported that cabs 1 and 2 are back, only one of them required repair. NEW BUSINESS 2001 Fair: Mr. Veihdeffer announced that we will commence our Wednesday work sessions in preparation for the fair. ANNOUNCEMENTS Club Car: Mr. Schultz offered his backyard to place the Club car after the Fair leaves the current fairgrounds. Bitter Creek & Western RR Trip: Mr. Frozina reported that after viewing the BC&W web site, the revised trip dates are Saturday and Sunday, 13 and 14 October 2001. Mr. Frozina said that he'd bring his SW-7E. Tehachapi Loop Railfan Trip: Mr. Frozina reminded the members that the Tehachapi Loop trip is on Saturday, 16 June 2001 at 8 AM. A flyer was distributed. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 06 July 2001 at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business or discussion, Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Schultz seconded that we adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
