ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 04 January 2002 Lancaster, California Minutes of the January 2002 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2001 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: J. Beasley, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, H. Morris, N. Schultz and D. Tate. Guests present: Jann Mayer, Geri Schultz, Bill Shiverdecker, and Larry Wines. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Beasley moved and Mr. Madriaga seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received an e-mail from Trains Unlimited asking us to link to them on our website. Discussion followed. The consensus was that our links page was for other model railroad club links only. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford welcomed the members to a new year. Vice President: Mr. Beasley had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. Schultz reported that he had "no idea if we are solvent". Mr. Schultz also reported that he had yet to receive the treasurer materials from Mr. R. Wetzel. We will need new checks, as our bank was bought our by another bank. Our P.O. Box is in limbo, as the P.O. cannot locate our box fee. Publicist: Mr. Beasley reported that he has contacted the AV Press several times trying to get us listed in the Showcase, or other, sections of the paper. To date, he has not had much luck. Superintendent: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS Mr. Crawford established the following committees with the following chairs: Electrical: Mr. Tate Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey Inventory: Mr. Frozina Operations: Mr. Veihdeffer Rolling Stock: Mr. Beasley (assisted by Mr. Madriaga) Scenery/Structures: Mr. Veihdeffer Track: Mr. Tate Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported that he would contact Fair Board President Jack Seefus about "where we go from here" after the re-organization of the Fair Board. Larry Wines mentioned that if needed, the museum complex in Boron would welcome us. Operations: Mr. Crawford reported for Mr. Veihdeffer about our new Operations Manual, and that the last operating session was a good one. SPECIAL ORDERS Mr. Crawford welcomed Mr. Jann Mayer as a prospective member. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Moved to next meeting. NEW BUSINESS None. ANNOUNCEMENTS Larry Wines talked about the K-Line Freedom Train O scale model that can be obtained at a discount through the www.freedomtrain.org website.
