ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 01 March 2002 Lancaster, California Minutes of the March 2002 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2014 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: J. Beasley, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, H. Morris, N. Schultz, D. Tate and H. Veihdeffer. Guest present: Geri Schultz. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Tate seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received one e-mail and four letters since the last meeting. The e-mail was from the Pomona MRC. The letters were from the City of Lancaster, the AV Bank and two from the AV Fair. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Vice President: Mr. Beasley had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that the web site has been updated. Treasurer: Mr. Schultz reported that we are solvent. Henceforth, petty cash items $10.00 or less in value will be reimbursed in cash. Items over $10.00 in value will be reimbursed by check. Publicist: Mr. Beasley had no report. Superintendent: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that we had a good operating session; that the guest engineers had fun; that we need more throttles. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer had no report. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey reported on vacuuming. Inventory: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that he cannot find the 123 Collect program. Operations: Mr. Veihdeffer reported that the next operating session will be Friday the 29th (with Friday the 22nd being a clean track session). Rolling Stock: Mr. Beasley reported that we need more weights for cars; also more car-cards for cars. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Tate reported that the parking lot at the paper mill has been completed. Track: Mr. Tate reported SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Signal Project: Mr. Veihdeffer will modify the head so that the wires attaching to the LEDs are covered. Private Cars: Mr. Schultz was absent. Mr. Frozina reported that he gave Mr. Schultz the necessary info and a copy of the logo. Fast Clocks: Mr. Crawford reported that one has been installed (in the CTC room). Engineer Cabs: Mr. Crawford reported that three NCE engineer cabs have been ordered, along with the necessary plugs. Toy Trains: Mr. Frozina reported that he ordered the Hogswarts Express set from Model-Expo Online. Mr. Veihdeffer said the he'd check with Palmdale Hobbies to order the Thomas the Tank Train set. NEW BUSINESS Vist to Pomona: Saturday, April 27th, 2002. Vist to Santa Barbara: Saturday, May 18th, 2002. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. J. Beasley announced that he will be holding his assembly party and BBQ at his home on March 22-24 for the purpose of assembling his new layout building. All are invited to participate. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 5 April 2002 at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Veihdeffer moved and Mr. Morris seconded to adjourn the meeting.
