ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 02 August 2002 Lancaster, California Minutes of the August 2002 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2012 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: J. Beasley, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, H. Morris, N. Schultz, and D. Tate. Guests present: Katelyn Frozina, Tammy Glasgow, and Bill Shiverdecker. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Lacey seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received 7 pieces of mail: 1 from Driver, 4 from the AV Fair, and 3 from the AV Bank. Mr. Frozina also reported that we have a new PO Box key. Two e-mails were also received: 1 from Accurail and 1 from Paul Catapano. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford reminded us about the cleaning day tomorrow. Vice President: Mr. Beasley had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that the web site has been updated. Treasurer: Mr. Schultz reported that "we are better off than Enron". Publicist: Mr. Beasley had no report. Superintendent: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz reported that he will attend the next meeting of the Fair Board. Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey reminded us that tomorrow, 03 August 2002 at 0700 hours is the designated time for cleaning the car. Inventory: Mr. Frozina had no report. Operations: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. Rolling Stock: Mr. Beasley reported the he, Mr. Madriaga, and Mr. Lacey had tech'ed most of the club's cars. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Tate reported that he will throw dirt around the roundhouse; that Mr. Crawford painted a vast quantity of track; and that Mr. Veihdeffer and Mr. Frozina will experiment with the mountain paint templates. Track: Mr. Tate reported that the lead-in, storage and service tracks have been installed. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Private Cars: Mr. Beasley reported that we received an e-mail proof from Accurail. We will sell each car for $14.95, plus shipping and handling (amount to be determined later). Members will not have to pay shipping and handling. Bill at Palmdale Hobbies will also sell the cars. The amount of his mark-up still to be determined. Toy Trains: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent, but it was known that the Hogwarts Express is ready, but Thomas the Tank Engine still needs work. Visit to Santa Barbara: Cancelled. Passenger Station: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. Club Future: Mr. Morris reported that he will meet with his Parks and Recreation Department contact next week. Wednesday Work Sessions: Mr. Crawford stated that Mr. Frozina, Mr. Veihdeffer, Mr. Crawford, and Mr. Tate consistently showed up to the Wednesday work sessions. NEW BUSINESS None. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 4 October 2002 at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Schultz moved and Mr. Morris seconded to adjourn the meeting.
