ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 06 December 2002 Lancaster, California Minutes of the December 2002 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Mr. Crawford at 2003 hours in the Club car on the AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: J. Beasley, J. Cenkner, J.E. Cenkner, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, N. Schultz, and D. Tate. Guest present: Heidi Beasley, and Geri Schultz. Mr. Beasley moved and Mr. Frozina seconded to move the agenda to Special Orders. The motion passed. SPECIAL ORDERS Ballots were distributed to eligible voting members, filled out, collected, and counted by Mr. Frozina and Mr. J.E. Cenkner. Mr. Frozina reported on the election outcome. The following persons were re-elected to office for 2003: President Tom Crawford Vice President Joe Beasley Secretary Don Frozina Treasurer Norm Schultz Publicist Joe Beasley Superintendent Howdy Veihdeffer Congratulations all! DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Schultz moved and Mr. Tate seconded that the reading of the minutes from the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received 2 pieces of mail: one Bulletin from the NMRA, and one utility bill from the AV Fair. Mr. Schultz reported the he received 1 piece of mail from JA Bash. Mr. Beasley reported that he received 1 e-mail from the Tehachapi Loop Club about the car. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Crawford thanked the members for their support in his re-election bid. Vice President: Mr. Beasley had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that the web site has been updated. Treasurer: Mr. Schultz reported that we are solvent and on problems with our current bank. He also reported on insurance matters. Mr. Frozina moved and Mr. Beasley seconded that Mr. Schultz look for another bank for the Club and report his findings at the next meeting. Publicist: Mr. Beasley reported that the letter he sent to the newspaper was published; that we need a picture of our private car on the web site; that Mr. Veihdeffer has all the remaining private cars and Palmdale Hobbies has none; that Railroad Model Craftsman published our Club in the looking for new members section. Superintendent: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Fair Liaison: Mr. Schultz had no report. Grounds: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey had no report. Inventory: Mr. Frozina had no report. Operations: Mr. Veihdeffer was absent. Rolling Stock: Mr. Beasley had no report. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Tate had no report. Track: Mr. Tate reported on an article in Model Railroader on using polish on the tracks to keep them clean. He will test this on his own layout and report his findings as they might pertain to our Club. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Small Layout: Mr. Schultz reported for Mr. Veihdeffer that this layout was not worth pursuing. NEW BUSINESS Holiday Party: Mr. Schultz to arrange with the Royal Buffet in Lancaster for Friday, 13 December 2003 at 7 pm. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 3 January 2003 at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Beasley moved and Mr. Schultz seconded to adjourn the meeting.
