CALL TO ORDER President Tate called meeting to order at 2000 hours in the Club car on the former AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, J. Cenkner, J.E. Cenkner, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, B. Haynes, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, M. McKinnie, H. Morris, and D. Tate. Guests present: Tom Fidger, and Danny Lawson. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Crawford moved and Mr. Tate seconded that the minutes from the last regular meeting be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Frozina reported that we received the following correspondence: AV Bank, statement; NMRA, bulletin. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Tate had no report. Vice President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that our website has been updated. Treasurer: Mr. Schultz was absent. Mr. Frozina reported, based upon our bank statement, that we are solvent. Publicist: Mrs. Cenkner had no report. Superintendent: Mr. McKinnie had no report. COMMITTEE REPORTS Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Grounds/Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey had no report. Operations: Mr. Crawford had no report. Rolling Stock: Mr. Madriaga reported that 33" NWSL steamer pilot wheels did not work on his Metrolink cars. He tried Mantua wheels and they seemed to work on his cars. More testing is needed. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Tate had no report. Track: Mr. Tate had no report. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Truck and Crane: Mr. Tate reported that American Heavy Moving and Rigging's bid was $18,000-$20,000. Mr. Tate will obtain a written bid from T&T Truck and Crane Service of Bakersfield by our next meeting. Granicy Square: Mr. Crawford reported that the cost of the grading would be in the neighborhood of $500.00 and that he is willing to donate this to the Club. Mr. Boone has been unable to contact his friend who has done grading in the past. Mr. Morris will contact a friend of his that has grading equipment. AV Fair: Mr. Tate reported that Mr. Jacobs told him that we have to have the car off the former fairgrounds by the end of March 2004. The meeting recessed at 2052 hours to meet with Jeff Dubell, Cupid's franchise owner. The meeting reconvened at 2110 hours. NEW BUSINESS Special Assessment: Mr. Frozina mentioned that we would need a special assessment of $300/member to complete our move to Granicy's. Mr. Tate asked each member in turn if they could do this. Mr. Boone, Mrs. Cenkner, Mr. Crawford, Mr. Frozina, Mr. Haynes, Mr. Madriaga, Mr. McKinnie, and Mr. Morris, indicated that they could. Web Games: Mr. Frozina asked for permission to use the games from our website on the website of the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum. Mr. Boone moved and Mr. Lacey seconded to allow Mr. Frozina to use our games on the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum website. The motion passed unanimously. AVRR Name and Logo: Mr. Frozina asked for permission to use our Antelope Valley Railroad name and logo on his personal 1/8 scale "live steam" equipment. Mr. Crawford moved and Mr. Boone seconded to allow Mr. Frozina to use the Antelope Valley Railroad name and logo on his personal 1/8 scale equipment. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mrs. Cenkner announced that John's school is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, 13 March at the Outback Restaurant in Palmdale. The cost is $12.00/person for all you can eat. There are two seating times: 1100-1150 hours and 1200-1250 hours. Tickets will be available at the door. NEXT MEETING The next business meeting will be on Friday, 12 March 2004 at 2000 hours.
