ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 12 March 2004 Lancaster, California Minutes of the March 2004 special business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Tate called the special meeting to order at 2010 hours in the Club car on the former AV Fairgrounds. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, J. Cenkner, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, B. Haynes, M. Lacey, M. McKinnie, H. Morris, and D. Tate. Guests present: Tom Fidger, and Danny Lawson. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Boone moved and Mr. Morris seconded that the minutes from the last regular meeting be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Crawford reported that he received e-mail from the person who runs the Palmdale web cam. Mr. Frozina moved and Mr. Morris seconded to move the agenda to unfinished business. The motion passed unanimously. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Truck and Crane: Mr. Tate reported that we received written bids from both T&T Truck and Crane Service of Bakersfield and Solveson Crane Company, Inc. of Tracy. The bid from T&T was $7,820.00, while the bid from Solveson was $10,000. Mr. Morris moved and Mr. Boone seconded that we accept the bid from T&T Crane with the proviso that we will be supplying our own trucks for the car's trucks and track panels. The motion passed unanimously. Granicy Square: Mr. Crawford reported that he would donate the grading cost of $500.00. Grading is scheduled for Saturday, 20 March 2004. Mr. Tate and Mr. Crawford will visit Granicy Square to stake out our plot on Saturday, 13 March 2004. AV Fair: Mr. Tate reported that he will meet with Mr. Jacobs on Tuesday, 16 March 2004 at 11 am. Special Assessment: Mr. Crawford moved and Mr. Boone seconded to make an assessment of $300/member so that we can move to Granicy's. One-half of this assessment is due by the end of March 2004. The motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS AC Compressor: Mr. Frozina mentioned that he was able to secure a used, but working, 3-ton AC compressor from a friend of his at work. Mr. Frozina will write a thank you letter for Mr. Tate to sign. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next business meeting will be on Friday, 2 April 2004 at 2000 hours.
