ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 10 October 2004 Lancaster, California Minutes of the October 2004 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Tate called the meeting to order at 2001 hours at Mr. Boone's residence in Lancaster. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, T. Crawford, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, M. McKinnie, H. Morris, D. Tate, and M. Yost. Guests present: None. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Boone moved and Mr. Morris seconded that the minutes from the last meeting be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Crawford reported on mail from the following: Pomona Valley MRC, swap meet; Mike McKinnie, donation. An e-mail was also received from former member Mike Cronin. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Tate reported that keys to the man gate lock have been distributed. Vice President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. Crawford reported that we're solvent. Mr. Crawford also reported that he made a study of our finances. At the current dues rate we cannot provide for the necessities, let alone the luxuries. The minimum amount for dues to cover our necessities would be $15/month. Mr. Boone gave the club a generous donation. Publicist: Office vacant. Superintendent: Mr. McKennie had no report. COMMITTEE REPORTS None. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Pole Placement: Mr. Yost reported that he and his son we able to successfully plant one of the poles at the southeast corner of the car. Electricity: Mr. Crawford reported that "Twinkle Wire" has been donated. Mr. Crawford also outlined the remainder of the work that needs to be done, although his day job now requires him to work Saturdays. NEW BUSINESS Boxcars: Mr. Tate reported that he rescued 6 of our AVMRC boxcars that were on consignment at Palmdale Hobbies ANNOUNCEMENTS The Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum will be having their annual Ghost Train public night rides 23, 24 and 31 October from 1830-2130 hours. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 5 November 2004, at 2000 hours at Mr. Boone's residence.
