ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 14 January 2005 Lancaster, California Minutes of the January 2005 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Tate called the meeting to order at 2001 hours at Mr. Boone's residence in Lancaster. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, T. Crawford, T. Fidger, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, H. Morris, and D. Tate. Guests present: Bob Drury and Gordon Jefferson. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES None. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Crawford reported on mail from the following: AV Bank, statement; Peerless insurance, general liability insurance bill; T&T Truck and Crane; bill; Andy Gump, fence rental bill; Paul Catapano, holiday card; NMRA, magazine and calendar; e-mail from Gordon Jefferson about the club; e-mail from Pomona MRC, open house and swap meet; OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Tate had no report. Vice President: Mr. Crawford had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. Crawford reported that we're solvent. Publicist: Mr. Lacey had no report. Superintendent: Mr. McKennie was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS None. SPECIAL ORDERS Dues: Mr. Boone moved and Mr. Crawford seconded that the monthly dues be $20.00. The motion passed 6/0/2. Equity Fee: Mr. Crawford moved and Mr. Frozina seconded that the Equity fee remains $100.00. The motion passed unanimously. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Electricity: Mr. Crawford reported that we have 60' of 1¼" conduit, still need another 20'; we have 500' of #4 wire; we have 10' of PVC; still need a 20" deep trench from the pole to the east side of the north rail (Mr. Tate to dig). NEW BUSINESS Work Party: Saturday, 22 Jan. 2005 at 8 am over at Granicys for electrical. Modules: Gordon Jefferson suggested that the Club needs visibility. He proposed that the Club build a modular HO layout that we can display offsite. The consensus of the members was that this was a good idea, but cannot be persued until we complete the Club car--electrical and stairs. Stairs: Mr. Crawford mentioned that he could get some Trex lumber for the treads. Wood posts are onsite and need to be primed. Chocks: Mr. Fidger said that he has some plate steel that could be used to make wheel chocks. Mr. Drury said he could machine the chocks to the radius of the wheels. Mr. Fidger said that Mr. Mueller could weld the chocks to the rails. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 4 February 2005, at 2000 hours at Mr. Boone's residence. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Frozina moved and Mr. Tate seconded to adjourn the meeting.
