ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 03 March 2006 Lancaster, California Minutes of the March 2006 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Fidger called the meeting to order at 2000 hours in the Club Car at Granicys Square. ROLL CALL Members present: T. Fidger, D. Frozina, R. Harris, M. Lacey, M. McKennie, H. Morris, D. Tate and M. Yost. Guest present: Richard Harris Sr. and John Walton. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Lacey seconded that the minutes from the last meeting be approved as written. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS Friends of the Santa Ana Zoo, donation for their new train ride; Andy Gump, fence rental bill; NMRA, Scale Rails magazine. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Fidger decried the pitiful attendance at the last work Saturday--only 3 persons showed up. He said, "We need to get serious!" Vice President: Mr. Lacey had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina had no report. Treasurer: Mr. Tate reported that we are solvent and that he will have a full budget report at the next meeting. Publicist: Mr. Morris had no report. Superintendent: Mr. Yost had no report. COMMITTEE REPORTS Construction: Mr. McKennie had no report; see AC Doghouse. Electrical: Mr. Tate reported that our electrical problems might be with the top right breaker in the breaker panel. Mr. Fidger indicated that we would pick up a replacement. Grounds: Mr. McKennie reported that the AVMRC sign has been planted on the north side of the car. Housekeeping: Mr. McKennie reported that he washed the trash cans, and that we need trash bags for the trash cans, to minimize ants. Rolling Stock: Mr. Madriaga was absent. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Morris had no report. Track: Mr. Tate reported on a bad Tortoise and a bad ground-throw. SPECIAL ORDERS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS AC Doghouse: Floor framed and installed; next studs for walls and furnace/AC support. Fence: Nothing to report. Stairs: Mr. McKennie reported that he will complete his drawing for the west side stairs so that a materials list can be assembled. NEW BUSINESS Club Cards: Mr. Morris suggested that we should have Club "business" cards to hand out to prospective members. Open Saturdays: It was suggested that when Daylight Savings Time begins, we try to be open two Saturdays a month from 10 am to 2 pm. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 7 April 2006, at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Frozina moved and Mr. Fidger seconded to adjourn the meeting.
