ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 05 May 2006 Lancaster, California Minutes of the May 2006 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Fidger called the meeting to order at 2003 hours in the Club Car at Granicys Square. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, T. Fidger, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, D. Tate and M. Yost. Guest present: None. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Fidger seconded that the minutes from the last meeting be approved as corrected. The motion passed unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS AV Bank, statement; Andy Gump, fence rental bill; NMRA, Scale Rails magazine; Peerless Insurance, upcoming renewal. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Fidger sadly reported that Oscar (of Granicys) passed away last week. Oscar was instrumental in our move to Granicys two years ago. We extend condolences to Oscar's family. Mr. Fidger also reported that we were open last Saturday to the delight of those who visited. Granicys will be happy to have flyers in the store. Mr. Fidger mentioned that only two members were out at the Club last Friday. More members need to come out! Vice President: Mr. Lacey had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that when he last went to update the website, the password was invalid. Mr. Frozina will contact Mr. Crawford, and have him contact our provider, Qnet, to rectify this situation. Treasurer: Mr. Tate reported that we are more than solvent. Publicist: Mr. Morris was absent. Superintendent: Mr. Yost had no report. COMMITTEE REPORTS Construction: Mr. McKennie was absent. Electrical: Mr. Tate had no report. Grounds: Mr. McKennie was absent. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey reported that he's been doing some "Spring Cleaning". Rolling Stock: Mr. Madriaga was absent. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Morris was absent. Track: Mr. Tate had no report. Mr. Lacey reported that he cleaned the track last week. SPECIAL ORDERS Mr. Frozina reported that probationary member, Richard Harris, will be eligible for regular membership next month. UNFINISHED BUSINESS AC Doghouse: Nothing to report. Fence: Nothing to report. Stairs: Mr. Yost reported that the east stairs are now 99% complete. Club Cards: Mr. Morris was absent. Glue: Mr. Tate reported that we "cleaned out" Palmdale Hobbies of their glue supply. NEW BUSINESS Open Saturdays: Mr. Fidger mentioned that we should be open one or two Saturdays a month, from 10 am to 4 pm. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Fidger believes that this meeting set a new record in being the shortest meeting on record. Mr. Tate said that he can't go home too early, or his wife will wonder what he's been doing on those Fridays that he's been home late. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 2 June 2006, at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Frozina moved and Mr. Lacey seconded to adjourn the meeting.
