ANTELOPE VALLEY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB 8 September 2006 Lancaster, California Minutes of the September 2006 regular business meeting. CALL TO ORDER President Fidger called the meeting to order at 2006 hours in the Club Car at Granicys Square. ROLL CALL Members present: R. Boone, T. Fidger, D. Frozina, M. Lacey, J. Madriaga, H. Morris and D. Tate. Guest present: Chris Stilson. DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES Mr. Tate moved and Mr. Lacey seconded to waive approval of the August minutes until the next meeting. COMMUNICATIONS Andy Gump, fence rental bill; NMRA, Scale Rails magazine; NMRA, dues; Peerless Insurance, liability insurance. OFFICER REPORTS President: Mr. Fidger reported that he talked with Tom Crawford. Vice President: Mr. Lacey had no report. Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that he was unable to prepare the August meeting in time for review. Treasurer: Mr. Tate reported that we are solvent. Publicist: Mr. Morris reported that he went to the AV Fair and several persons asked him what happened to "the train car". Mr. Morris directed these persons to ask the Fair Manager, Dan Jacobs, the same question. Mr. Morris also reported that he observed several "permanent" trailers located on the fairgrounds, contrary to the policy used to get rid of us. Superintendent: Mr. Yost was absent. COMMITTEE REPORTS Construction: Mr. McKennie was absent. Electrical: Mr. Tate reported the the lower level has no track power and that he and Mr. Frozina would investigate and effect repairs. Grounds: Mr. McKennie was absent. Housekeeping: Mr. Lacey reported that he cleaned-up the center aisle. Rolling Stock: Mr. Madriaga reported that he continues to perform routine maintence. Scenery/Structures: Mr. Morris had no report. Mr. Boone suggested that we purchase backdrop "wallpaper" to enhance the realism of the layout. Mr. Boone will look into what's available and at what cost. Mr. Crawford's girlfriend at the time, started painting mountains near the helix, but quit once she became his spouse. Track: Mr. Tate had no report. Mr. Madriaga reported that he added a tail track to the east end of Mojave Yard. SPECIAL ORDERS New Member: Chris Stilson was welcomed into the Club. Being from the East Coast, Mr. Stilson is a fan of Conrail, CSX and the NYC. UNFINISHED BUSINESS AC Doghouse: We will need a few sheets of plywood for the side that faces the car; it should be painted prior to installation. The next workday is Saturday, 9 September 2006. Fence: Nothing to report. Stairs: Nothing to report. Club Cards: Nothing to report. Holiday Banquet: A concensus was reached on the location of our banquet: The Texas Cattle Company. Mr. Morris is to visit that and inquire about dates and logistics. DCC Breakers: Nothing to report. NEW BUSINESS None. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, 6 October 2006, at 2000 hours in the Club car. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Lacey moved and Mr. Frozina seconded to adjourn the meeting.
