Minutes of the March 1997 regular business meeting.


CALL TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by Mr. Veihdeffer at 2007 hours in the Club car
on the AV Fairgrounds.


ROLL CALL

Members present: J. Beckmann, T. Crawford, J. Fowler, D. Frozina, D. Jameson, 
D. Lawson, H. Morris, and H. Veihdeffer.


DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES

Mr. Crawford moved and Ms. Fowler seconded that the reading of the minutes
from the last regular meeting be waived, and that they be approved as
written.


COMMUNICATIONS

Mr. Frozina reported that two letters were received: one from the AV Bank 
(statement), one from the Driver & Associates (policy).


OFFICER REPORTS

Secretary: Mr. Frozina reported that he e-mailed the webmaster of the NMRA
web page to update to URL for the Club.

Publicist: Mr. Beckmann reported that he will soon be sending announcements
about our upcoming open house during the AV Fair to Model Railroader, 
Raliroad Model Craftsman and Model Railroading magazines.  It was also 
suggested that we put something on our web page about our open house.


COMMITTEE REPORTS

Carpentry: Mr. Jameson reported that the outer track on the helix will be
moved in to accomodate extra-long cars.  They changed the URL a few days
later.

Wiring: Mr. Crawford reported that most of the feeders are in on the lower
level of the layout; that half the Tortoises on the lower level are in.

Bridges/Buildings: Mr. Vehhdeffer mentoned that the name of this committee
was Bridges/Buildings and not Bridges/Structures as previously written.


SPECIAL ORDERS

None.


UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Train Control: Continued to the next meeting.

Heater: Mr. Morris reported that Goal Propane has the orifices for the burner
assembly, but have not called him back yet.

Turntable: Mr. Morris reported that he has yet to find a pit for the turntable.


NEW BUSINESS

Headsets: Mr. Veihdeffer asked if he could borrow some of the Club's headsets
for the N'Scalers show in Bakersfield.  No one had a problem with this request.

Big Boy's Toys:  Mr. Morris reported that items are 30% off now, 40% off 
starting April 1.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

Mr. Veihdeffer mentioned that the N'Scalers will be in Bakersfield March 22 
and 23 for G.A.T.S.; that the N'Scalers will be in Bakersfield April 30 
through May 4 for the Pacific Coast Region of the NMRA show. 


NEXT MEETING

The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, April 4, 1997, at 2000
hours in the Club car.


ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business or discussion, Mr. Morris moved and
Mr. Lawson seconded that we adjourn the meeting.  The motion passed
unanimously.  The meeting adjourned at 2027 hours.
